We have Pick-Up Games every Tuesday and Saturday!
We usually start around 16:30 (4:30 pm) and play until dark.
Note: We don’t have a standard field anymore, which means we have to be very flexible and switch available fields nearly all the time.
We will always announce the actual location on our Facebook page at least 24h before Pick-Up-Start.

Pick Up Games
… are games we play just for fun and everyone is welcome to play with us. Although you should be able to throw a disc and catch a disc while running – otherwise just come around to practice throwing and catching, there will always be someone to teach or assist you.

If you want to warm up or practice throwing, please come to the field early.
Bring both a white AND a dark or colored shirt, so we can make fair teams (and switch if necessary). Avoid grey shirts!
Bring Water, you will need it!!! (Opposite of the main entrance are some shops. Don’t buy Nestlé/Mineré water though! 😉)
Bring / wear Cleats if you have, especially when it’s wet. If you don’t, don’t worry. Several people don’t wear cleats and some players even prefer to play barefoot at all times!
For beginners:
Don’t be shy! Just come to the field early, so we can show you how to throw and explain the basic rules.
If you don’t feel comfortable to play yet, you can use the field and our help to improve throwing and catching, watch the game, ask questions and get to know more about Ultimate / Flying Disc, …

Only for the rental / pay fields: We kindly ask for a tribute of 100.- THB per player. Students who can’t afford it, No Problem! Just contact someone from Chiang Mai Ultimate and we will cover for you!
CMU Rugby Field (grass – free)
Located: Right there on the left-hand side when entering CMU through the main entrance at Huay-Kaew Rd. (Naa-Mor).
For over 20 years, this was our standard field. It is no more (some of the rugby players seem to have an issue with us playing there – very sad). But we occasionally will still use that field if nothing else is available and if we can negotiate with the present rugby group(s).
Small CMU Football Field next to the Softball Field (grass – free)
Located: On Chiang Rai 2 Alley, opposite of the CMU Main Stadium.
Sometimes the field is occupied by footballers, who often are willing to compromise so we can share the field. It can happen though that we have to move somewhere else, sometimes the softball-field next to it is available, and the Pink-Dorm Field is also quite close by.
Pink-Dorm Field (40-Years Dorm Field) (grass – free)
Located: In CMU, near Canal Road (PTT Gas Station), not far from the CMU Sport Centre. There is a big Motorcycle parking lot in front of the fields.
There is a big and a smaller field, both usually occupied by footballers on most days. The fields are a bit bumpy on the outlines and can get quiet dry (sandy and dusty) in the dry season but still a possible alternative.
Suthep Municipal Stadium (grass – rental / pay field!)
Located: Close to Doi Suthep, South-West of Chiang Mai, near Wat Pong Noi.
A beautiful big stadium-field. This field is quite popular, so we have to book early in advance (and pay for it)! So during Raining Season and during “Burning Season” when we often can’t play due to extreme circumstances, we refrain from booking this field. Otherwise this field is probably our No 1 choice.
Sport Stadium Municipality Nam Phrae (grass – rental / pay field!)
Located: Nam Phrae in Hang Dong District, close to Canal Road – mountain-side.
This is the furthest field we play but rarely used for pick-up (rather for matches). It’s a good field though just a bit far away.
North Arena Sport Club (turf – rental / pay field!)
Located: At Serene Lake, Sout-West of Chiang Mai Airport on Somphot Chiang Mai 700 Pi Rd., Western side of Chiang Mai Hang Dong Road.
This is a TURF field, so it is smaller – we play 5:5! Due to smaller field-size but also since time is counting down, these games are at a faster pace. Depending on numbers we will make 3-4 teams and only play a couple of points, then change. Also cleats might not be the best choice for turf fields. Come early, so we can start right on time.
Nice Place Sports Club (turf – rental / pay field!)
Located: Sout-East of Chiang Mai Airport on Somphot Chiang Mai 700 Pi Rd., Eastern side of Chiang Mai Hang Dong Road.
This is a TURF field, so it is smaller – we play 5:5 or max 6:6! Due to smaller field-size but also since time is counting down, these games are at a faster pace. Depending on numbers we will make 3-4 teams and only play a couple of points, then change. Also cleats might not be the best choice for turf fields. Come early, so we can start right on time.
